AI Prompt Box is a free tool that turns a plain idea into a clear, structured prompt built for the AI you plan to use. You describe what you want in your own words, and it writes a well-organized prompt you can copy straight into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Midjourney or another model.
This page explains what the tool does, who it helps, how it works, and why we made it. If you want to jump in, open the prompt generator.
What it is
Most people type a short, vague request into an AI and get a vague answer back. A prompt with a clear role, goal, context and output format usually gets a much better result. AI Prompt Box does that structuring for you. Instead of a bare line like "write about dogs", it produces a prompt that states who the AI should act as, the exact task, the audience, the format you want, and a few sensible constraints.
It is a prompt builder, not a chatbot. It does not answer your question or connect to any model. It writes the prompt; you paste it into the AI of your choice and run it there.
Who it's for
It's for anyone who uses AI and wants better output without learning prompt engineering. That includes writers, students, marketers, developers, designers and small business owners using ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Midjourney and other tools. If you have ever stared at an empty chat box unsure how to phrase what you need, this is meant for you. No technical background required.
How it works
You give it three simple choices and one idea:
- Content type — text, image, code or video.
- Tone — professional, casual, creative or technical.
- Target AI — the model you'll use it in.
- Your idea — a sentence or two describing what you want.
Not sure what to pick? Leave any field on Automatic and the tool decides for you, or builds a model-agnostic prompt that works across AIs. It then assembles a structured meta-prompt (role, objective, context, format, tone and constraints) in the same language you're writing in, and shows it with a one-click copy button.
Everything runs in your browser. The idea you type is processed on your own device; it is not sent to or stored on our servers. There is no account and no sign-up, so nothing ties a prompt back to you. For more detail on the mechanics, read the guides.
Why we built it
The gap between a mediocre AI answer and a genuinely useful one is often just structure. The models are capable; the prompts holding them back are usually too short and too vague. We wanted a fast way to close that gap for people who don't want to memorize prompt frameworks. Type the idea, get a solid prompt, move on.
What it supports
The generator covers four kinds of prompts — text, image, code and video — targeting around twenty AI models across those categories, from ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini for text and code to Midjourney, Flux and DALL·E for images and Kling, Veo and Runway for video. The interface is available in ten languages. It is free to use, with no sign-up and no limit on how many prompts you create.
Privacy
The prompts you write stay on your device. We don't require an account and we don't store the text you enter. If you accept cookies, third parties such as Google may use them to show and measure ads; ads load only after you consent.
